Heritage Lanterns Weekend

Three evenings of lantern-lit walks through the old town.

  • 24–26 Oct · 3 days
  • Old Town Gardens, Bengaluru
  • Free entry

What is it?

For three evenings the lanes around the old fort are lit with hundreds of hand-made lanterns. Guides lead short walks that explain the buildings, the trades and the families who have lived here for generations.

Between walks, stalls sell local snacks and crafts, and small stages host folk singers and storytellers.

A little history

The lantern evenings began as a neighbourhood tradition after the harvest, when shopkeepers hung lamps outside their doors. The trust has run them as an open festival for the last eight years.
